TUTOR PARENTS
A Tutor Parent is a volontary member of the SPAMA association nominated to be the relay point of our association for a given region.
The parent is present to offer to those parents who so desire a complimentary presence and comfort outside of the medical context in which they are plunged, thus meeting one of the fundamental needs of anyone confronted with a serious and fatal illness of a member of his or her family.
He or she participates in the communication of the association and making it known to health professionals in his or her region and can help direct families towards carers informed about palliative care in maternity.
He or she can organise meetings between parents, this facilitating the support that they wish to receive.
Without purporting to take the place of health professional whose roles are essential for such health care, the tutor parent strives to be the sign of our human solidarity faced with the life’s trials.
